MSI Wind U120 smiles for the camera

The first pictures of the upcoming MSI Wind U120 laptop are hitting the web, and it sure does look pretty. The folks at Fudzilla managed to dig up 8 images of the next generation netbook from MSI.

As previously noted, the Wind U120 will have a 10 inch display, an optional solid state drive, and a slightly more angular case than the MSI Wind U90 and U120 which feature rounded edges. Fudzilla says the U120 will come with the option of a 120GB HDD, or a 20GB or 40GB SSD. It will also come with 802.11n wireless and an internal 3.5G modem.

Other than the new case, SSD, and new wireless options, the Wind U120 will be a lot like the Wind U100. it will pack a 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU, a 10.2 inch 1024 x 600 pixel display, and 1GB of RAM.

20GB = 16GB + 4GB and 40 = 32 + 8. Now that I've dazzled you with my arithmatic ability, do you think this may mean that the Wind U120 will have dual SSDs like the eeePCs?

I certainly hope not. This could be one of the ways MSI sets its product
apart from the Eee PC line. But using a faster disk for the OS and a slower
one for storage is certainly one way to keep production costs down.
