Averatec Buddy netbook available in US for $450

Averatec is now taking orders for the Averatec Buddy netbook, which is another in a long line of rebranded MSI Wind laptops. Not that this is a bad thing. Especially not when you factor in the price: Averatec is charging $450, which is about $30 less than the going rate for an MSI WInd with a 3-cell battery. Of course, you can pickup an MSI Wind for as little as $430 with the right rebate, but if you don’t want do deal with the hassle of rebates, the Averatec Buddy looks like a good deal.

The order page for the Averatec Buddy is a bit… funny. For example, the computer is named as the “Averatec Buddy Noteebook 10.2 in.” But the product description says it has a 12.1 inch screen. It doesn’t. There’s also no mention of the battery capacity, but the official product page shows that this model sports a 3 cell battery.

But if you’re willing to take the risk that Averatec will ship you a 12.1 inch notebook with a 6 cell battery by accident, it looks like you can get your orders in now.
