It just seems odd they would skip Vista, and go straight to Windows 7. I run Vista on my A150, and it runs fine. But I'd have concerns about slapping a brand new OS (possibly with even higher hardware requirements) onto a low powered netbook. Perhaps since Windows 7 is more modular in design, Microsoft is planning a version for specifically for netbooks? How interesting!

He could be referring to Windows Mobile 7, which is due out early next year. Could Asus be planning an even smaller device, or perhaps a smartphone? Multi-touch support is the main attraction for WM7, so that could be interesting!

Asus has been putting out Windows Mobile PDAs and phones for a while, but
they don't wear the Eee PC brand name. I think it's pretty clear he was
talking about Windows 7. Whether his information about the release date is
correct or not is another question.

This leads credence to what we read from Taiwan where they claim that the Linux versions of netbooks are more for the housewives who just want something simple and XP is for geeks who like to mod and do all the upkeep necessary.

Remember the old canular about how hard Linux is to use? Seems this can be put to rest (especially since Windows has only one desktop interface and Linux offers dozens as well as hundreds of distros) once and for all.

I still dont get why toushcscreens would make it thicker.

I wonder if that Wii lookalike EEE Box is selling well? I think they also have a Wiimote clone out as well...
Throw in the Splashtop that I have built-in my new Asus motherboard that I just got and I must say that Asus has really impressed me the past year. They could have ridden the 7 and 9 inch EEE's coattails but it has done very well.
