I think that more netbooks using the Gdium's technique (no hard disk but instead use an external keydrive so your data isn't locked up to a device and you can use your drive in another compatible device) should be made. Smaller external hard drives will bring us big capacity storage devices shaped like a normal keydrive. If this types of netbooks have more sucess, Microsoft will need to release an special version of Windows XP with the necesary changes in their license and other adaptations (like restricting the software to a storage device instead of a specific computer).

The only bad thing about this is the MIPS based processor, so it wouldn't be compatible with most other devices. And it shouldn't be locked to a single OS/Linux distro, it should come with the one that the user wants.

I couldn't agree more with the comment "the current crop of Eee PC killers all look an awful lot like, well, Eee PCs. They have Intel Atom processors, sizeable hard drives or solid state disks, and 9 to 10 inch displays. "

So seeing something different is refreshing... But I must say going with a MIP types CPU and not an x86 based one is a bold move and I don't know if it will pay off.
