I certainly don't want to hijack your post with complaints, but I have to be honest in saying that I will never purchase another Acer as long as I live. Over the years, I've purchased several different brands of computers including dell, Gateway, HP, IBM, etc. Never have I had so many problems as the day I purchased an Acer. Rather than getting into a long drawn out story, suffix to say it was the worst computer purchase I've ever made.

Perhaps interesting to note is that Acer is not offering its retailers the same price break. Not a lot of incentive to sell their product, is it?

The white one is on sale at Newegg for $330 with free shipping, but they charge $15 S&H for the blue version. Although I'm not interested in Windows, I think I'll get the Windows version at Best Buy for $350 with week. It comes with a 120 GB hard drive and a gig of RAM instead of 512 MB. Microsoft must be giving away their OS for free to keep Linux from making a beach head in this market.

How difficult is it to remove the HD and install an SSD? I

I called the local Circuit City and the guy there seemed to think they would have the lower price change in on Sunday. Awfully tempting, but I'm waiting (and waiting and waiting) for the Dell before I make up my mind.

Thanks for the information . . . As much as I want it, I'm going to wait until I can find a company in the U.S. to purchase from . . . gawd knows if there's a problem it can be enough hassle purchasing from an online retailer based here, never mind dealing with one in Canada.
