Gigabyte M912 unboxed

Steve at UMPC Portal has a first look at the Gigabyte M912 ultraportable tablet. According to his first impressions it:

  • Is a bit heavier than some of the other tiny laptops on the market, and is too heavy to use as a one-handed tablet
  • Has an attractive glossy finish to the case
  • Has a higher resolution display than most other laptops with 8.9 inch displays
  • The speakers are reasonably loud

The screen looks a little wobbly to me, but that has everything to do with the fact that it’s a swiveling touchscreen. Last I heard, the Gigabyte M912 would be starting at around 399 Euros, or about $625 US. Unfortunately, it looks like you won’t be able to pick one up in the US anytime soon.
