Rumor: Asus to launch EBOX, the Eee PC desktop

Word on the street, (and by Street, I mean The Inquirer) is that Asus is set to officially unveil its first desktop computer to get the Eee PC-branding treatment at Computex next week. The new PC will reportedly be called the EBOX, and like it’s Eee PC laptop cousins, it will be rather tiny. Like, make the Nintendo Wii look kind of big, tiny.

The computer will have a 160GB hard drive, 2Gb of RAM, and will run the same custom version of Xandros Linux you can find on the Eee PC laptop series. I’m going to assume you’ll also be able to order a Windows XP version for a few extra bucks.
