MSI Wind user manual hits the web
You may not be able to pick up an MSI Wind laptop for another couple of weeks, but you can read the product manual today. Blogger Mike Cane (and the German MSI Wind portal) found download links for the user manual in a whole slew of languages. Here are a few interesting things I learned from reading the manual:
- The MSI Wind will ship with a disc that includes all the drivers you need to install Windows XP. It’s not 100% clear if both the Linux and Windows versions will come with the driver disc, but I don’t see why they wouldn’t.
- That Fn+F10 “turbo” button doesn’t overclock your PC, it underclocks it. This feature will only work when you’re on battery power, when it will help increase your battery life. Pressing Fn+F10 while your MSI Wind laptop is plugged in will have no effect.
- You can boot from USB devices, which means it should be fairly easy to load alternate operating systems using a flash disk or USB CD-ROM drive
