Blue Digital Systems, yet another company you’ve probably never heard of, has decided to get in on the low-cost ultraportable market. The company has announced the Deep Blue H1, which on paper looks like a cross between the original Eee PC and the Everex Cloudbook:

  • 1GHz VIA Esther processor
  • 1GB DDR2 RAM
  • 7 inch 800 x 480 display
  • 40GB HDD
  • 2 USB ports
  • 802.11b/g WiFi
  • 2 USB ports
  • Ethernet
  • Webcam
  • 1.2 kilograms
  • Suggested price of 16,995 Philippine Pesos, or about $405 USD

The company claims the Deep Blue H1 will get up to 4.5 hours of battery life, but doesn’t specify what kind of batter would ship with the unit. No word on a shipping date.

thanks Alwyn!
